Project preparation will be carried out during autumn 2017

Project preparation for Puijo Areena will continue until the end of 2017. This preparation phase is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund, which was granted by The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre).

During autumn 2017, a more detailed plan for the facilities will be mapped-out, services for different end-users will be developed, and a chief architect will be chosen.

A detailed end-user needs assessment study will be conducted together with leading professionals from various fields: travel, sports, training, events and construction.

Target is for the arena to be complete by summer 2019

The aim is for all official construction documents to be finalised and approved by the end of 2017.

Pre-building of the plot is planned to start immediately following the approval of all the construction documents. If everything is completed within the scheduled timeframe, Puijo Areena will welcome its first visitors in summer 2019.
